Agency rankings, listings and sales information
All rankings, market share or other statistics about agent or agency performance on RateMyAgent are a statement of opinion only, by RateMyAgent, and may not be reflective of an agent or agency true statistics, rankings or market share.
Our opinion is based on the agent and agency listings, and sales data, which we obtain from publicly available sources ("Available Data"). This information does not include listings or sales data which is (a) only known to the agent/agency; or (b) not available to the data sources from which we obtain our data, when we obtain our data; or (c) available from other public or private data sources, which we do not subscribe to.
Agency rankings and market share graphs are calculated based on the total listings and sales by each agent working within the agency, from the Available Data, during the relevant period. Individual agent rankings and market share are calculated in a similar manner. Given that these rankings and market share graphs are based on the Available Data, they may not be based on all available information. Other factors may affect an agent or agency rankings or market share graphs, including if they (or their Available Data) has been listed or known to us for less time than the relevant period over which the rankings or market share is being measured.
Each agent and agency has the ability to claim their profile at no cost and update their listings and sales information, and other Available Data. Agent and agency rankings, market share and other statistics may change once an Agent provides additional information to us. RateMyAgent relies on the information provided by Agents as being accurate, and may not make further enquiries into the accuracy of the information.
If an agent/agency has not claimed their profile and recently updated their listing and sales information, then the rankings may not reflect their true market performance, as calculated by us. It may also indirectly affect the rankings of other agents. Rankings only apply to agents listed on the site and not any agents or agencies who have been de-listed.
Even though an agent or agency has a profile on RateMyAgent, this does not mean the agent or agency endorses the site, is associated with the site, or confirms the listings or sales data information which we display about them, or any other Available Data, to be accurate in any way.
For these reasons agent and agency rankings and market share graphs are to be used as guide only, and simply taken as the opinion of RateMyAgent. They are not intended to represent a definitive view of the market or any agent’s or agency’s performance.
How rankings are calculated
- Rankings are calculated based on values for the previous 12 months.
- Rankings are calculated for each region covered by RateMyAgent.
- For values based on the sale of a property by an agent, only the lead agent will have the values included in their rankings.
Total Sales
The total number of properties sold by a real estate agent/agency in the previous 12 months. Properties included in this statistic must have been advertised in the public domain or supplied directly to RateMyAgent.
Total Sales Value
The total value of property sold by a real estate agent/agency in the previous 12 months. Sales must be reported in the public domain or directly by the agent/agency to be included in the statistics.
Average Sale Price
The average sale price of all property sold by a real estate agent/agency in the previous 12 months. Sales must be reported in the public domain or directly by the agent/agency to be included in the statistics.
Recommendations
The total number of recommendations for a real estate agent/agency in the previous 12 months. Recommendations must be made using RateMyAgent.
